Amilcar C6 entries were particularly unsuccessful in the 1928 & 29 Ards TTs. Both Vernon Balls & Horton entered the 1929 event, Horton retiring after 5 laps and Balls retiring after 23 laps. Both cars suffered chronic misfiring and were quoted as retiring due to "engine problems".
