The Talbot is seen in the pits having the fuel pump changed in the early stages of the race. Talbot no 22 (registered PL 4), driven by Col. Cuthbert Rabagliati, was one of the two Talbots involved in the tragic crash in the late afternoon of the first day's racing, when the two cars touched, causing Rabagliati's car to crash through the railings on the finishing straight. His mechanic Ted Allery and a spectator were killed, Rabagliati received severe head injuries, and 12 other spectators were also injured. The Talbot no 21, driven by Roland Hebeler, overturned, but both driver and mechanic were not seriously injured.
